The world's safest heaven of Kirk's Colobus Monkey
During this full-day nature experience tour you will walk through the only national park on the island, Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park, then catch the boat over to Prison Island to delve into its fascinating history. It will all start with a guided walk through Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park, the world’s safest heaven and home to the famous endemic Kirk’s Red Colobus monkey.
Your guide will lead through the nature trail and lend a hand in spotting these elusive creatures and for certain, you will be in for a chance of finding them, other habitats of the forest such as Sykes’ monkeys, bush babies, duikers, butterflies, birds are also seen. You will also walk through the mangrove forest.
A paradise for tortoise
Later in a day, driven to Stone Town to catch the boat over to Prison Island. It takes around 30-minute crossing, on arrival you will be introduced to the history of the Prison Island, its famous giant land tortoises, go around and have some time to relax, swim, snorkel and sunbathe.
