“The Uzi Island a unique discovery for those who are interested in remote lives, customs and traditions.” The Uzi island is located in the south of Zanzibar, connected by a causeway to the main island of Unguja and can be reached only during low tide via a 2km of coral rock road through the diverse mangroves.

In this full day unique private tour, you will be welcomed by our Uzi native guide to explore social, ecological, economical and adaptive phenomena of mangroves ecosystem. Indeed, the tour will give you the insight on early history through visiting one of the oldest sites in Zanzibar as well as traditional life style.

Another feature of the tour is the Zanzibar Butterfly Center, an interactive butterfly exhibit consists of a netted tropical garden with usually hundreds of butterflies, all of which are native species to Zanzibar. Last but not least you will stop at “Dada & Moto” where typical dishes of Zanzibar cuisine will be served.

After the delicious lunch you can observe the hard work on the weaving loom and try out the procedure of batik by yourself before admiring the final shawls and clothes in the little shop.
