Mbweni Ruins Hotel

Mbweni Ruins Hotel
Mbweni Ruins Hotel offers peace and comfort in a Victorian setting.  It is situated on the west coast halfway between the airport and Stonetown.  Set in grounds which contain a historical ruin from the time of the first Anglican missionaries to settle in East Africa, the gardens are landscaped into a botanical garden including many species of exotic and tropical palms and trees.  The 13 rooms are air-conditioned and the furniture is traditional Zanzibar style, including four-poster beds with beautifully draped and canopied mosquito nets.  Each room has facilities for making coffee and tea, though morning tea can also be served in the rooms at your pleasure.  The thatched restaurant and bar are set on a cliff with a fabulous view of the coral sea.  Mbweni Ruins, rated a moderate deluxe hotel, specialises in personalized service, making your vacation truly memorable. Complimentary shuttle service to/from Stonetown 3 times daily (5 minutes drive).

Zanzibar Beach Resort
The hotel is located between the Stone Town and the airport, in a secluded cove. The village layout, set in sculptured and landscaped gardens, has been designed to offer elegant accommodation using traditional materials. Rooms are designed in arabesque style, and are self contained.
The large free-form swimming pool is set on the edge of the beach. Choice between standard and sea-front rooms. Well situated and one of the more popular beaches for those wanting easy access to the stone town while also enjoying the beach.

Mtoni Marine Centre
Mtoni Marine is the perfect romantic haven, yet situated only 4 kms north of Stonetown.  It is an ideal location from which to explore Stonetown and the rest of the island, while providing a peaceful retreat from it all.  This is the site of the first clove plantations, the first Sultan's Palace, the oldest Persian Baths and the anchorage of the Sultan's Fleet.   The excellent restaurant is situated right on the water, allowing you to dine barefoot on the sand and under the stars.  There is a no more romantic setting for dinner or sipping cocktails from your private balcony.   Your accommodation is in one of only 6 Palm Garden rooms.  Cool, fresh and light, these large tiled rooms have views across the beach and ocean to the four islands.  The bedrooms are furnished with king sized Zanzibari beds.

Hotel ya Fumba

Salome's Garden
Salome’s Garden is a beautiful 19th Century plantation house which was completely restored and refurbished in 1997. It is situated in Bububu, 4 miles to the north of Stonetown and is surrounded by 18 acres of private tropical gardens full of bougainvillea which run down to the beach. All of the rooms and bathrooms are very large. The house is designed for 8 (4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms) but can sleep a maximum of 10. The whole house is furnished with Zanzibari antiques, original colonial furniture, Persian carpets and kilims, lamps and shades from India and Turkey and traditional tiles from the Arab world in the bathrooms. The beds are all traditional Zanzibari four poster beds with mosquito nets and colonial fans. While most guests tend to eat out in the many excellent restaurants in town, the house does have a professional cook and kitchen.
